When a faithful member of a congregation dies, they can often leave a big hole in the tithes and offerings that support critical ministries. Did you know that individuals age 70½ or older can donate up to $100,000 per year directly from your IRA to the church without counting the amount as taxable income? First UMC has decided to cancel Sunday’s worship service and all activities for Sunday, January 25th, out of an abundance of caution due to significant snowfall expected in the Stamford area.
For everyone’s safety, it will be unsafe even for the Tech Team, so there will be no in-person service, live stream, or Zoom option. This cancellation also applies to all meetings and studies scheduled for the day.
