Living and Loving Through our Differences: Living Like Jesus
The world today, particularly in the United States, is extremely polarized. While there has been an effort to recognize uniqueness and self-worth, it has created tensions in society and an overwhelming feeling of defensiveness. These tensions have resulted in sexism, racism, anger, bitterness, and more attitudes and behaviors that have become a detriment to living in relationships with one another. Rather than celebrate our differences, we have discrimination, separation, disaffiliation, and isolation. We are anything but “united”! The scriptures are all about relationships – how to live in relationship with God and with one another. Romans 12 and 13 are a great opportunity to hear how the call to live out our faith in real and tangible ways can make a difference in our lives and the lives of those around us. The theme is “Living & Loving Through Our Differences.”
