SYSTEMATIC BIBLE LEARNING – Our curriculum is designed to give a broad foundation, so that children will understand how all parts of Scripture point to Christ.

A BIG REWARD FOR A SMALL INVESTMENT – Bringing your child to Sunday School can result in over 800 hours of Christian teaching before your child graduates.

WE HAVE AGE TARGETED TEACHING – Your kids get Biblical instruction that is focused toward their developmental abilities.

Pre-K

Most children of this age are both active and curious.  Our teachers are usually high school Church members who have been with the Sunday School program for years and appreciate the opportunity to mentor and share with younger kids.  They read Biblical stories, do some basic crafts and coloring while leaving time to play games.

1st Graders

Each week the class explores a story from the Bible in a very active way.  We talk about the message in the story and how it relates to our lives.  We may have one or more craft projects, sing and dance, or go on a journey back in time to discover what it might be like to part the Red Sea or watch Jesus ride into the village on Palm Sunday.  It’s lot of fun while we celebrate the good news of Jesus and the wonder and miracle of God.

2nd & 3rd Graders

In the 2nd/3rd grade class, we begin to have students read narrative stories from both the Old and New Testament. These stories provide fundamental training that is central to Christian’s belief. We interactively discuss what these stories can teach us to better follow Christ in our own lives. As the year evolves, we begin to regularly teach the students how to open and find the stories within the bible. This provides knowledge of the bible’s content to our 3rd graders, who will receive their own bible at end of the school year in June.

4th & 5th Graders

4th and 5th grade Sunday School focuses on encouraging students to become comfortable with the Bible’s Old and New Testaments, and identifying differences between them.  There is an emphasis on learning new vocabulary to facilitate understanding of the Bible stories.  Every Sunday, 4th and 5th grade students are challenged to locate specific Bible books, chapters, and verses. Another major focus of 4th and 5th grade Sunday School is learning to pray for others, and relating the Bible stories to the students’ daily experiences, helping them understand what they can do to show God’s love in the world.  These goals are accomplished through the curriculum which offers student-friendly materials, games, and fun activities for learning.

Middle School (6th – 8th grades)

The middle school class (for grades 6, 7, 8) has as its goal providing opportunities for students to apply the stories (familiar and unfamiliar ones) and beliefs that they have learned over the years in Sunday school to personal and life situations.  The Bible based lessons are supported with discussions, videos, role plays, crafts and music.  Students are also given opportunities to serve as assistants in the Pre-K and elementary classes and to support missions projects.
