How Should I Dress?
We are a come as you are church. Jeans or suits are equally welcome.
How long is the service?
The services are approximately one hour or less. Fellowship Coffee Hour after the 10:30 service is a great opportunity to fellowship and grow into the community!
What about children and Sunday School?
Children are always welcome at First UMC.
A children’s message will be offered each Sunday during the 10:30am service. Sunday School for children ages 3-13 is offered after the children’s message until parents come to retrieve their children after worship, @11:35am.
Professional child care is available for children younger than 3.
What are the services like?
Sunday: The 8:15 am service (held in our beautiful chapel), is an intimate service of Word and Table where open Holy Communion is celebrated each week.
The 10:30 am service (held in the sanctuary), is the principal service. The Chancel Choir, our 80-rank Schantz pipe organ, as well as the hand bell and Children’s choirs are highlights of this service with Communion on the 1st Sunday each month.
Saturday: The 5 pm service (1116 Hope Street), is a 45 minute Praise and Worship experience. 1116 Hope Street Campus is a casual crowd open to all just as they are.
