“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)
At First United Methodist Church, children and youth can come to know and love God in a supportive community. From the youngest ones through high school, they are cared for, taught, respected and celebrated as part of our church family. We have adopted guidelines and policies to protect the children in our community, including screening all paid staff and volunteers that work with children in our programs. For information on First United Methodist Nursery School visit www.fumns.com
Nursery & Child Care
We want parents with young children to worship and participate fully in church life knowing their children are well cared for. Professional child care is provided during the 10:30 am service for children up to age 3 (older children can attend Sunday School).
Professional child care is also provided at other times (for special programs, studies, meetings, choir rehearsals) with advance notice.
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
We offer classes and opportunities for children and youth 3 years old through grade 12. Learn more about Sunday School
Led by the Senior Pastor, Confirmation Classes prepare 7th and 8th graders for full membership in the church. Learn more about confirmation in The United Methodist tradition.
